The procession  which included  a horse drawn cassion, a flag draped coffin, followed by a rider less horse would pass by the Russell house as it made it's way  to the train station.  As children playing,  the Russell's would reenact the procession using  wagon, a watermelon covered with a flag and a dog tied behind the wagon.
